A – Deep ruby pink in color, this Fox Barrel cider remains vibrantly clear with no head retention. A thin ring of foam rests on the surface from continuous carbonation streaming up.
S – Sharp blackberry aroma, like a basket of freshly washed berries, there’s some detectable pear lingering in the background with slight tannin astringency. Definitely the more potent of the aromas from Fox Barrel ciders.
T – Smooth, crisp blackberry isn’t as pushy as the aroma, instead it blends with the pear juice creating a tandem effort that balances well.
M – Crisp and well-carbonated, Fox Barrel’s Blackberry Pear cider has just a touch of dry tartness and astringency on the tongue. Refreshing and naturally sweet!
O – One of the better ones from Fox Barrel, this has a good balance of flavor between the pear juice and accompanying fruit. The crisp, clean, almost lambic-like finish is very nice. This could even make for a great mixer!
